In association with the National Trust, Nosy Crow have published a range of fantastic children’s books to help engage, interest and educate children about nature, British wildlife, the great outdoors and areas of cultural and historical heritage. This book, alongside others in the series related to woods and rivers, is no exception. Published in May 2019 it is perfectly timed for the upcoming Summer holidays – whatever the weather.
This adventure handbook is hardback and ideally sized for young hands to explore and pack away on outdoor expeditions. Great for those 8+ to use independently, or for younger children to enjoy with parents / older siblings, it will provide hours of fun, stimulation and interest.
Each page is beautifully presented with illustrations and well chosen information to guide through examples of activities, safety tips, conservation, identification and quizzes. There’s something for everyone – from sand surfing and skimboarding to catching crabs and rock pooling.
I would have loved this book as a child and think the grown-up feel will appeal to young adventurers who are keen to exert their independence and lead some beach trips of their own.
Many thanks to Nosy Crow for a copy of this wonderful book in return for an honest review.
